Disciplinary Docket

ODC v. Moore, 2608 DD3 (disciplinary proceeding)

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will consider the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s recommendation for the disbarment of former Senior Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Jimmie Moore.

Moore launched unsuccessful campaigns for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and 2016. In 2017, Moore pleaded guilty to making false statements about campaign funds to the Federal Election Commission related to his role in accepting and concealing payments received from a rival campaign in exchange for Moore dropping out of a primary race.

The Disciplinary Board thereafter commenced disciplinary proceedings against Moore. On May 13, 2019, the Supreme Court entered an order granting the Pennsylvania Office of Disciplinary Counsel and Moore’s joint petition for Moore’s temporary suspension pending further disciplinary proceedings.

While the Disciplinary Board’s Hearing Committee recommended a four-year suspension retroactive to May 13, 2019, the Disciplinary Board has recommended disbarment.
